The interior is more concise and austere: wooden benches for parishioners, bas-relief paintings depicting the events of the life of the apostles Paul and Peter. More than 100,000 students live in the city, mostly studying at the Jagiellonian University (Copernicus graduated from it at one time). The main building of the educational institution is called the Great College or Collegium Maius. It is a red brick building of three floors in the Gothic style, with rectangular windows, an octagonal ledge and several stepped gables. In the courtyard there is a well and an arched gallery. In the 20th century, it was decided to turn the building into a museum.
